Joseph Stewart

Joseph Stewart, 51 of Savannah, passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 at his home. Born in Auburn, Joe is the son of Elizabeth Moore DeLand and the late James Stewart. He was a contractor by trade and was formerly employed as a roofer with Don Dennis Statewide of Port Byron, in maintenance at the Port Byron Thruway rest stop and also worked with Salva Electric. In his spare time, you could find Joe outdoors fishing, camping, hunting, and kayaking. 

In addition to his loving mother, Betty, Joe is survived by one son, Alex Stewart; sister Dawn Rude (Scott); brother Frederick Stewart; nieces and nephews Freddy, Angel, Mitch and Julie; great nephews Ripley and Rain; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is predeceased by his father, James; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Dorothy Moore; stepfather Bill DeLand; and sister Laurie Stewart.

Calling hours for Joe will be conducted Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 2 to 4 PM in the White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South St., Auburn. Spring burial in Throopsville Rural Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
