Josephine M. Barry, 97, of Auburn passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Commons on St. Anthony. Mrs. Barry was born on June 17, 1927, in Ithaca, NY to the late Michael and Julia Noga Lucas. Josephine retired from General Electric after 40 years of employment.
She enjoyed knitting, especially sweaters for her grandchildren. Josephine was an exceptional cook, she was famous for her delicious, authentic pierogies and pigs in the blanket. Josephine and her late husband, Donald had a loved taking trips and dancing together. They always looked forward to their yearly vacation with their daughter and three grandchildren.
Above all, Josephine loved her family and loved spending time with them. She was always there for her family no matter what.
Josephine is survived by her loving daughter, Michelle Bailey; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Glenn) Wright and Tiffany Bailey; her great grandchildren, Bailey Ernst, Harley David Bailey, Madison Corgnell and Tristan Bailey; along with several nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents, Josephine was predeceased by her husband, Donald Barry; her grandson, Shane Bailey; all of her siblings, including her twin brother whom she was very close with, Joe (Yo-Yo) Lucas.
Calling hours will be held Friday, February 21st from 1-3pm with a service to immediately follow at 3pm all in White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South Street Auburn, NY.
Josephine’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Commons for the compassionate care they provided during her stay.
