Julia C Smelski

Julia C. Smelski, 85 of Weedsport, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse. Mrs. Smelski  was born in Marcellus, NY on  March 25, 1936 to the late Carl and Edith Marshfield Chapman. After many years of employment in labor and delivery, Julia retired from Auburn Memorial Hospital where she was a Registered Nurse. Julia was exceptional at knitting, sewing and cross stitching. The time spent with family meant the most to Julia, especially the cherished moments with her grandchildren whom she adored. Julia’s immediate family members include her loving husband of 64 years, Andrew Smelski; her sons Steven (Shelly) Smelski and their son Jordan; Michael (Theresa)  Smelski and their children Elizabeth, Hudson, and Maren; Mark (Sally) Smelski and their children, Cooper and Tyler; her daughter, Karen (Joseph) Krzykowski and their children Gretchen and Braden. In addition to her parents, Julia was predeceased by her grandson, Jordan and her siblings Vernon Chapman, Earl Chapman and Vera Wolford.Visitation will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021 from 3-5pm with a service to immediately follow at 5pm at  White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Dr. Weedsport. Private burial at Weedsport Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Julia may be made to the Jordan Smelski Foundation for Amoeba Awareness.
