Lee A Vella, 96, of Liverpool, formerly of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 21, 2024. Lee was born December 9, 1927, in Auburn, NY. She married Carmen Vella, the love of her life, on October 2, 1948. He predeceased her in 1995. Lee was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Church of Auburn and enjoyed adventures with the Red Hat Society, traveling with friends and family, wintering in Punta Gorda, FL, bingo, and almost all the Christmas movies the Hallmark Channel produced. Her greatest accomplishment was her family, and the love, memories and laughs shared with them. Whether it was a birthday, a holiday, or a spontaneous dinner together at a Chinese buffet, just being together was a gift.
In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her sister, Josephine Boskovich, and brothers, John (Scotty) Stone, Anthony (Tony) Meyers.
Lee is survived by her children, Janice (Paul) Anderton, of Baldwinsville, NY, Dr Phillip (Amy) Vella PHD, of Champaign, IL, brother, Raymond Meyers, of Liverpool, grandchildren, Kelly Alger (Ray Barth) of Baldwinsville, Jeffrey (Rachel) Anderton of Brewerton, step-grandchildren, Haley (Pedro) Beenenga and Elliot Beenenga, both of California, and great-grandson, Jax Barth (her “Jaxy”).
Lee’s journey on Earth was selfless. In death, instead of calling hours or services, she wished to give herself to science through anatomical donation. Her wishes were fulfilled; she was given to SUNY Upstate.
