Linda L. Tanner, 85 of Weedsport, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, earned her angel wings on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the Commons on St. Anthony. Linda was born in Auburn, NY on April 19, 1940, to the late Harland and Etta Baker Green.
She retired from Cayuga Onondaga BOCES where she was a teacher's aide for many years. Whether it was camping, birdwatching, gardening, or enjoying sunsets on the St. Lawrence River; Linda loved nature and being outdoors. She also enjoyed puzzles and board games, especially Yahtzee. Above all, Linda loved the time she spent with her family.
Linda is survived by her six children: Lynn Dewine (Steve Johnson), Paula Jerome, Lorraine (Philip) Grassi, Bruce Tanner, Penny Jones and Paul Jr. (Gaby) Tanner; thirteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her husband, Paul Tanner Sr. in 2018, and several siblings.
Visitation will be held on Monday October 6, 2025, from 4-6pm with a memorial service to immediately follow at 6pm at White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Dr., Weedsport, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Commons on St. Anthony/Recreation Department or the American Cancer Society.
Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her.
