Margaret Mary (Maggie Deliz) Eckett Age 84, of Throop, formerly of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
Maggie was born in Watertown, NY on October 18, 1939; the daughter of the late Eleanor (Deliz) (Krell) Morse.
She graduated from West High School with the class of 1957. Maggie was formerly employed by the Auburn School District and a graduate of Beauty School of Arts, she then went on to retire from Welch Allyn in Skaneateles. In Maggie's retirement years she had volunteered at Auburn Memorial Hospital and worked part time in the office of Northbrook Heights Adult Care Facility in Auburn.
She loved gardening, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren along with her pet dogs, Murphy, Rebel and Willow.
Maggie is survived by husband James W. Eckett; daughters, Ann-Marie (Eckett) Barnes and Margaret (Peggy Eckett) Weston and her husband Robert Weston; daughter-in-law, Becky Eckett; brother, Robert Deliz; sister, Dolores Elice; brother in-law, Ronald Eckett; nine grandchildren, nine soon to be ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Maggie was predeceased by her son William Joseph Eckett and son-in-law, James P. Barnes.
Calling hours will be held, Friday, September 6, 2024, from 2-4pm with a memorial service immediately following at 4pm all at White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South St. Auburn NY. Donations in Maggie's memory may be made to Finger Lakes SPCA of CNY or Hospice of CNY & of the Finger Lakes
