Martin H. Green

Martin H. "Marty" Green, 84 of Port Byron, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025 in Upstate University Medical Center. Born in Auburn November 29, 1940, Marty was the son of the late Howard and Ann O’Brien Green. He was a Port Byron High School Graduate and for over 40 years, owned and operated the Shopping Guide and Press in Port Byron. Marty enjoyed watching NASCAR and Sunday golf on television, boating on Owasco Lake and was an avid Syracuse University Basketball fan. Whenever he had downtime, he would cruise around the area, often stopping by the post office and ice cream shop. 

He is survived by his brother, Gary Green (Margaret); son-in-law Tom Lipiska; brother-in-law Jim Applebee; loving grandchildren, Thomas Lipiska and Miranda Lipiska; as well as two nieces and one nephew. 

In addition to his parents, Marty was predeceased by his wife, Roberta Guy Green; daughter, Kelly Lipiska; and sister Terrell Applebee. 

A graveside service for Marty will be offered Friday, July 25, 2025 at 1:00 PM in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Port Byron. Arrangements are with White Chapel Funeral Home, Weedsport.
