Martin A. Lawler, 55 of Cayuga, passed away January 20, 2025 at his home. Born in Auburn, June 12, 1969, he was the son of Geraldine Martino Lawler and the late John Lawler Sr. Marty was a graduate of Union Springs High School, Class of 1987, where he played football, baseball and wrestled. He was a proud Veteran, having served with the United States Navy from 1987 until his honorable discharge in 1997. Marty was employed with ITT Gould Pumps from 2006-2025.
An avid outdoorsman, Marty enjoyed hunting, fishing, and any sporting events or motor sports. Above all else, Marty truly enjoyed the camaraderie that was created with several friends and unconditionally loved his family. Marty had a strong work ethic, passion for pets, and valued loyalty and integrity.
In addition to his mother Geraldine, Marty is survived by his loving wife of almost 35 years, Wendy Thaxton Lawler; son A. Mitchell Lawler (Betsie); daughter J. Kelleigh Lawler; brothers John Lawler, Kirk Lawler and Michael Lawler (Eliza); three grandchildren; and several nieces, cousins, and nephews.
To help bid a fond farewell, the family invites all to join them Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Sunset in Auburn.
Also, in true Marty fashion, he requested a Celebration of Life to be held at the family home on June 14, 2025, with more details to follow.
