Mary E. Bush Adams, 93 the wife of the late George Adams of Auburn, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023. Born in Owasco, April 4, 1930 the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Cuddy Bush, Mary lived most her life in the Auburn Area. She started her work career as an operator with the telephone company. She then was employed as a housekeeper for many years for the Holy Family Church Rectory and retired following many years from Stella Maris Retreat Center in Skaneateles. She was a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and a lifelong communicant of Holy Family Church.
In her younger years, Mary enjoyed league bowling and participating in many tournaments around the area. She was always up for a trip to the casino, a game of bingo, going out to lunch with friends and treating the family to Wendy's on Sunday's following Mass. This kind and generous lady will be sadly missed by her entire family, and all those who were fortunate to know her.
She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne DeTomaso (Vince) of Auburn, Kathleen Bennett (Todd) of Throop and Kristen Adams of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren Amanda Jennings, Amy Jennings Tillmon (Jeffrey), Larry Gallace, Jessica Harris (Allyn Bixby), Todd Bennett Jr. (Tony Hood), Matthew Bennett (Mindy), and Logan and Braden Jones; great grandchildren Shawn, Chesney, Kobe, Jimmie, McKayla, Camryn, Cayden, Nora and Paige.
In addition to her parents and her husband George who passed in 1980, she is predeceased by her brothers Kenneth Bush and Donald Bush; sisters Beatrice Carpenter and Catherine McMaster; and great grandson Christopher James Bennett.
Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered at 11:00 am Friday, December 1, 2023 in Holy Family Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours for Mary will be conducted Thursday, from 4 to 7pm in the White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South Street, Auburn.
