Our loving wife, mother, sister, Mary Lou Pratt passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester with her family by her side. She was born in Auburn, New York on September 11, 1960, and is the daughter of Patricia M. Ryan and late Louis J. Ryan Jr.
Mary was most recently employed at Bluefield Manor as a Resident Assistant. She excelled in this role because it was more than simply a job for her. Here, she was able to exercise all her natural qualities of kindness, warmth, altruism, and above all- love. Mary’s greatest joy in life was her family. She cherished taking care of her husband and three children, especially her special needs son, Ronnie, who was her pride and joy. Mary enjoyed cooking, baking, and relaxing in the sun on the beach.
Mary’s legacy of benevolence is survived by her husband Ronald L. Pratt Jr.; her children, Katlyn E. Pratt, Chloe M. Pratt, and Ronald L. Pratt III; her mother, Patricia M. Ryan; father in law, Ronald L. Pratt Sr.; her siblings, Louis J. Ryan III (Lynn), Robert M. Ryan (Cindy), Jonathan S. Ryan (Kathy), Patricia L. Ryan, Debra A. Young (Ronald), Thomas T. Ryan (Michele), and Betty Jo Ashbarry (Thomas); several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her father Louis J. Ryan Jr., mother in law Delores Pratt, and her baby brother Daniel C. Ryan.
Her family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, PAs, NPs, and all other staff at Strong Memorial Hospital for their remarkable efforts in providing gentle care to Mary during the time of her stay.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, June 17th at 11 am in St. Mary’s Church in Auburn. Burial to follow will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
