Nancy L. Polhamus, 62, of Auburn, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at Upstate University Hospital of Syracuse, where she faced a long battle of many health problems. Nancy, was born in Auburn Hospital, on March 19, 1962, and was the late daughter of Harry F. Polhamus and Lucille (Bixler) Polhamus.
She graduated from Southern Cayuga High School, she was once employed at Auburn City Hall. In her younger years, she participated on the swim team, did cheerleading, and loved to ice skate. Nancy, enjoyed nature, being by the lake, collecting shells (angels and cardinals), gardening, crafts, baking/cooking, attending garage sales, decorating, and listening to music. But above all, she loved and valued her time with her family and sharing many laughs, that none of us will ever forget. Amongst her great sense of humor, she was a very kind, caring, generous, compassionate person; She would do anything for anyone.
She is survived by her children, Joshua Polhamus, Melissa (Kyle) Hunt, Katelyn Polhamus (Brandon Brown), and Brandon Polhamus; Her partner and best friend, John Nowak. Her grandchildren, Alexis Hunt, and Olivia Polhamus. In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her two brothers, Francis Polhamus and Raymond (Craig) Polhamus; Her two sisters, Rebecca Polhamus and Barbara Whiffen.
As per Nancy’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or service.
