Neil Hopkins

Neil John Hopkins, 42, of Throop, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 9, 2026. Neil was born in Auburn, NY on October 11, 1983, and attended Weedsport High School where he was a member of the cross-country, track and swim teams. He was involved in scouting and later attended Onondaga Community College. Neil was employed with Baxter in Skaneateles Falls. 

Neil enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies from music to camping, hiking, biking and learning about Japanese Culture. He was witty and opinionated and made a lasting impression on all he knew; he will be dearly missed. 

Neil is survived by his loving mother, Mary Caram Hopkins; his sister Christina Hopkins-Rowe and her husband, Nathaniel; nephew Ethan Hopkins; his maternal grandmother, Elena Caram; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 

Neil was predeceased by his father, John E. Hopkins; maternal grandfather, Samuel Caram; paternal grandfather, John A. Hopkins and his paternal grandmother, Vivian Richardson. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 16th from 10am - 12pm at White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South St. Auburn. A memorial service will be held immediately following at noon in the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Neil's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
