Nikolai "Nick" Demidon

Nikolai “Nick” Demidon, 70, of Weedsport passed away on August 24, 2023. Born in Munich, Germany on March 13, 1953, Nick was the son of the late Iwan and Nina (Anikin) Demidon. Nick immigrated to New Jersey in 1958. He settled in Elmwood Park, NJ and was employed by Pabrico Steel, retiring in 2019.

After his retirement, Nick, and his life partner, Ruth Chudley, moved to Weedsport, NY. He enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, gardening, BBQing, and watching old movies in his recliner. Nick’s door was always open to family stopping by, and often times made sure they did not leave his house hungry. He enjoyed people celebrating his Russian heritage, teaching the Russian language, Orthodox religion, and of course, the food.

Nick is survived by his son, Ryan (Debra) Demidon, of Cayuga, NY; daughter-in-law, Colleen Demidon, of New Jersey; sister, Vera Demidon, of Colorado; his grandchildren, Lindsay Baker, of Georgia, Kimberly (Kyle) Baker, of Virginia, Hali Gray, of Cayuga, NY, Tristen Lewis, of Georgia, and Rita Demidon of New Jersey; his two honorary daughters, Jaqueline Lewis and Ashley Arndt.

In addition to his parents, Nick was predeceased by his sons, Nikolai “Nicky” Demidon and Iwan Demidon; life partner of forty years, Ruth Chudley; and brother, Vic Demidon.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 9, 2023 in the White Chapel Funeral Home Inc. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 am-1:00 at the funeral home, 197 South Street Auburn.
