Patricia J. Simmonds, 71 of Rockefeller Road Owasco passed away from a short illness Friday, February 16, 2024, with her loving family by her side. She was the daughter of Harry P. Flanigan Jr. And Jean Salzer Flanigan and was a graduate of Auburn’s East High School class of 1970. Patty was an EKG technician employed by Dr. Chaffee and Dr. Rowley’s office of internal medicine and was later employed for many years with oral surgeons Simmonds, Brady, and Loi of Auburn.
Patty always enjoyed a good laugh and spending time with her family and friends. One of her favorite pastimes was casino trips with her sisters. She looked forward to her Sunday afternoon conversations with her son and her special dinners with her daughter. She had a love for animals and especially cherished her beloved Kitten and dog Parker. She was a wonderful daughter, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Her friendship, infectious laugh, and big heart endeared her to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her mother Jean Salzer Flanigan; son, Robert (Lisa) Wojnar; and daughter Jennifer Wojnar; grandchildren Jack and Riley Wojnar, Noah (Olivia) and Saige Wojnar; siblings Peggy Murphy, Michael (Debi) Flanigan, Sandra Hall, David (Kathy) Flanigan, and Karol (Daniel) Soules. She was predeceased by her father, Harry P. Flanigan Jr., brother Terry Flanigan, nephew Dustin Flanigan, and brother-in-law Kenneth Hall.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South Street, Auburn. Contributions may be made in memory of Patty to the Finger Lakes SPCA of CNY, 41 York Street, Auburn.
