December 15, 1948 – July 2, 2025

Our beloved Patty was born to Margaret Furey (nee Finch) and John Furey in Endwell, NY where she grew up and graduated from Maine-Endwell High School. She received her associate degree from Broome Community College.

Beloved by all who knew her, Patty enjoyed the proverbial Luck of the Irish. She was infinitely generous and would do anything for her friends and family – and she considered almost everyone friend or family. Her group of girlfriends were the sisters she chose for herself in this lifetime, and they meant the world to her. Patty’s laughter brought joy and warmth wherever she went. Never afraid to speak her mind, she was a fierce young Hockey Mom (who could bleacher brawl with the best of them), and she continued to fiercely provide endless support and unconditional love for her two sons, two daughters-in-law, and three grandchildren throughout her lifetime. 

Professionally, Patty could do anything. Not only did she serve ice cream, work in the hospital, teach in early childhood programs, and sell real estate (for 13 years!), she supported her adoring husband, Bill, on the PGA tour while raising their two sons, and she remained by his side as his partner in professional golfing and course management. Along the way, she became quite an impressive golfer herself (she was also a very good bowler!).  She volunteered for everything and was an active member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.

Patty is preceded in death by her brothers John and Dan Furey. She is survived by her loving husband, Bill Galloway, their younger son, Gordon Tracy Galloway and his wife Kristi, as well as their older son, Francis Xavier Galloway, his wife Greer, and their three grandchildren, Rhys, Aidan, and Aoife.

Known for her fabulous jewelry, cute shoes, and statement belts, Patty could never leave a gathering without saying goodbye to everyone there. This time, everyone here has to say goodbye to her: We love and miss you, Patty; we’re so proud of the life you lived and shared with us!

A Funeral Mass for Patty is planned for Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, Auburn, NY. Everyone is encouraged to join the family and friends for a Celebration of Life immediately following the mass, at Dutch Hollow Country Club.

To honor Patty’s lifetime, the family asks for donations to be made to the Ancient Order of Hibernians Building Fund or St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
