Paul Curran, 89, of Auburn passed away Friday, October 11, 2024, at Auburn Community Hospital. Mr. Curran was born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 7, 1935, to the late John and Helen (Donovan) Curran.
Paul honorably served his country with the United States Navy from 1954-1958 and retired from New Process Gear, where he was a mechanic.
Mr. Curran was a long time member of St.Lukes United Church of Christ and enjoyed singing in the choir. He loved to bird watch, garden, and “tinkering” with anything.
Paul also enjoyed fishing and walking either his dog or his grand-dog around the neighborhood. Many neighbors referred to him as the commander of the neighborhood.
Along with his late wife of 54 years, Carleen; Paul enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. He loved Carleens cooking, especially her sweet treats. Spending time with family and especially spoiling his beloved grandchildren, brought Paul the greatest amount of happiness.
Paul is survived by his children, Judy (Jim) McCandless and John (Danyelle) Curran; his brother, Frank (Pat) Curran; and his grandchildren, JP McCandless, Jordyn McCandless and Bridget Curran, along with many nieces, nephews. In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his wife Carleen in 2022, and his siblings, John Jr., Helen, Mary, Robert, Daniel, William and Ruthann. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 16th, from 10am-12pm in White Chapel Funeral Home, Inc. 197 South Street, Auburn. A funeral service will immediately follow at noon in the funeral home.Interment will be in Fort Hill Cemetery, Auburn.
