Phyllis Jean Edmundson

Phyllis Jean Edmundson, known to family and friends as Jean, passed away on March 30, 2024, at the age of 99 in Weedsport, NY. Born to Percy and Ethel Kash on November 14, 1924, in Middletown, OH, Jean was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and friend. Jean was known for her giving nature, loving spirit, outgoing personality, athletic prowess, compassionate heart, adventurous soul, cheery demeanor, and feisty spirit.

Jean is survived by her daughter Linda Lidster, sons John Edmundson (Terry), and Jim Edmundson (Celeste), grandchildren Debby Scida (Buddy), Jeffrey Lidster (Tyrone), and Johnny Lidster, and great-grandchildren Sarah Scida (Mike), and Casey Scida (Lauren). Jean was preceded in death by her brothers Shelby Kash and William Kash, and husband Al Edmundson.

Jean and her family resided in the Midwest and New England before she and her husband retired in Florida. 

Jean was an avid tennis and bridge player, and enjoyed skiing, golfing, gardening, and reading. Jean and Al traveled extensively, exploring the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Bermuda. Later in life, Jean ventured to Australia, New Zealand, and South America. Jean also dedicated and enjoyed her time volunteering at the Melbourne Zoo in Florida.  Jean loved and cherished her close circle of friends. 

Arrangements are in care of The White Chapel Funeral Home, Weedsport, NY.  

A celebration of life with family and friends will be held from 2-5pm on Saturday, April 6th at 8806 South. Street, Weedsport, NY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Central New York of the Finger Lakes. 

Linda’s siblings wish to thank her for her extraordinary care for mom in her final years.
