Richard Allen Ball

Richard Allen Ball, known to his loved ones as "Papa," passed away on April 2, 2024, in Auburn, NY, at the age of 85. Richard was born on September 24, 1938 in Auburn, NY, to the late Charles and Pauline Smith Ball. He proudly served with the United States Army from 1961 to 1963. Throughout his life, Richard was a dedicated person, loving husband of 53 years to his wife Delia, as well as a loving father to his children. He was actively involved in his children's high school sports and cherished spending time with his family. An avid hunter and member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, Richard also found joy in planning trips to his favorite destination, Disney World. His passion for Disney led him to visit the magical place over 20 times, creating lasting memories with his children and grandchildren. 

In his professional life, Richard worked at Colombian Rope, Evans Chemetics, The Citizen and the NYS Thruway rest area in Port Byron. 

Richard will be deeply missed by his wife Delia; sons Daniel (wife Shari) and Michael; daughter Kristy (husband Brian); grandchildren Morgan, Parker, Samantha, Devin, Connor, and Mackenna, along with numerous additional family members and friends. 

A celebration of Richard's life will take place at 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 1871 Turnpike Road, Auburn, NY. Attendees are encouraged to wear something Disney-related to honor his memory. Arrangements are with White Chapel Funeral Home, Weedsport.
