Richard "Jake" Roberts Obituary

Richard "Jake" Roberts, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 16, 2024, with his nieces by his side.

Jake, as he was affectionately known as to his friends, was born in Throop and resided in the area all of his life. He was born on February 7th, 1954 to Laverne and Florence Roberts and was a graduate of Port Byron High School. Jake went into the military briefly and was honorably discharged before returning home. He was an avid biker and could always be seen in Auburn and the surrounding areas bicycling. Jake lived his life in a way different than most, but he had the biggest heart, would do anything to help someone and he loved his family deeply.

Jake was predeceased by his father Laverne in 2001; his mother Florence, with whom he shared a special bond in 2020; and most recently his beloved sister Donna in 2022. He has been reunited with them after missing them dearly and for that we are grateful.

He is survived by his two brothers, Steven (Carol) Roberts and Mark (Paula) Roberts; his nephew Bryce; and niece Margaret; He is also survived by his brother-in-law Joseph Christina; and his two nieces, Nicole Kustyn and Courtney Lepak, who both helped looked after him, after his mother passed away.

We would like to extend our sincere thank you to the staff at the Auburn Nursing Home for Jake's care of him and becoming a friend to him during his time there.

There will be no calling hours and a graveside service in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Union Springs with take place in the Spring. Arrangements are with White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South Street, Auburn.
