Rodney J. Squires, 54, of Weedsport, passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 after a 4 year battle with lung cancer. Mr. Squires was born October 24, 1969, in Syracuse to the late Edward and Sharon Pitre Squires.
He was employed with JK Tobin Construction as a truck driver for many years. Rodney was an avid hunter and bowler. He bowled a 300 game several times. He was also an exceptional horseshoe player, winning several tournaments. By far his favorite title was Papa, he was the proud papa of his little buddy, Jamison. All who had the privilege to know Butch will miss his positive attitude and seeing the smile he always had.
Rodney is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Deborah Dillabough Squires; his two daughters, Brooke (Tony) and Jenna; son Angelo: grandson Jamison; siblings Edward (Lori), Roger (Teresa), Sherry (Alan), Maggie, sister-in-law Patti; brother-in-law John; several nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins; and many great friends.
In addition to his parents, Rodney was predeceased by his brother Michael Sr., grandparents Ernest and Evelyn, Gorden and Ardis and mother-in-law Norma.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 19th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, with a memorial service to immediately follow at 2:00 pm, all in White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Dr. Weedsport.
A celebration of life will follow the services from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Jordan Recreation Center.
