Roxie Collier, a woman of remarkable warmth, generosity, and grace, passed away on July 30, 2025 surrounded by her children she so deeply cherished. She was 78 years old.
Born on July 9, 1947 in Auburn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lester Swayne and Gertrude (Carpenter, Swayne) LeFevre.
Roxie lived a life rich in kindness, compassion, and faith. To know her was to experience a rare gentleness and strength. She was the embodiment of love - a devoted mother, a loyal friend, and a soul whose generosity knew no bounds.
Her family was the heart of her world. She loved with a depth and intensity that left no one in doubt. Her children and loved ones always knew they were her highest joy.
Her home was her sanctuary, nestled in quiet beauty and peacefulness - she believed it to be the best place on earth.
A lifelong lover of nature, Roxie found joy and inspiration in the natural world, which she saw as a reflection of God's goodness. Flowers, trees, quiet paths - these were holy things to her, whispering the divine.
She was also an extraordinary lover of animals - the kind who couldn't pass a stray without stopping, who always had room in her heart and home for one more. Her compassion extended to every creature, and she showed, through simple acts of compassion, the depth of her love for all living beings.
A devoted member of Owasco Reformed Church for most of her life, Roxie lived her faith with quiet strength and unwavering commitment.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and faith - one that will continue to live on in the lives of all who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her four children, Scott Stone, Todd Stone (Tammy), Tammy Schafer (Craig), and Lisa Condes (Steve); her sister's Robin Murphy (Fred), and Sandy McNabb (Dean); seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Roxie is predeceased by her beloved husband Richard Collier, and her cherished dog, Abby - her most loyal friend and significant other - in every way that mattered.
A service to celebrate Roxie's life will be held at 11 a.m. on August 30, 2025 at Owasco Reformed Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made, in memory of Roxie, to Helping Hounds, 7268 Caswell Avenue, North Syracuse, NY 13212.
Her love was her gift to the world, and it will remain with us always.
