Sandra M. (Vandeburg) Metcalf

Sandra M. Metcalf, 82 of Auburn, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024 in Auburn Community Hospital. Born in Cortland August 29, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Earl G. and Doris Sturdevant Vandeburg and lived most of her life in Central New York. She was employed as a seamstress for Homick's Menswear in Auburn and later retired from Welch Allyn following over twenty years of faithful service. In her spare time, Sandra enjoyed sewing, knitting, ceramics and cooking. She especially loved trips to Doug's Fish Fry and baking and creating wedding cakes.

She is survived by two daughters Monica Woodcock (David) of Weedsport and Leisa Goetz of Weedsport; son Rex Rodgers (Shirley) of Georgia; son-in-law Mike Lefancheck of Baldwinsville; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren; and a niece and nephew. 

In addition to her parents, Sandra is predeceased by her husband Lawrence Metcalf; daughter Bridgett Lefancheck; son Lawrence Metcalf; and brother Earl "Stub" Vandeburg. 

Friends are invited to join the family for a graveside committal service to be offered at 11:00am Wednesday, August 14, 2024 in Lake View Cemetery, Skaneateles. Arrangements are with White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Drive, Weedsport.
