Serafine "Sally" (Campagnola) Gargosh

Serafine ‘Sally’ Campagnola Gargosh, 90 of Auburn, passed away peacefully Monday, May 13, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. 

Born May 10, 1934 in Auburn, she was the daughter of the late John and Elsie Finizio Campagnola and lived there most of her life. She later moved to Rochester in 1963 and worked with the Harris Corporation as a supervisor for more than 20 years. Sally met her husband George while in Rochester, and after retiring from Harris, she and George moved back to Auburn. Over her lifetime she also enjoyed working as a waitress, as well as taking care of older folks in their homes till she was in her 80’s. Sally loved her family and enjoyed the time she spent with her sisters. She spoke to her late sister Barb on an almost daily basis, and always ended their call by saying "We’ll hang up now so we can go and solve the world's problems". In her quiet time, you could always find Sally tending to her many plants or reading books, which she loved to do.

She is survived by her children, Margo (Scott) Johnson and Donald (Dorene) Wenzel; grandchildren, Samantha Hudson, Alexandrea DiSanto, Suzzanna (Frank) DiGraci, Jason (Alexandrea) Wenzel, Nicole Wenzel, Lindsay Marr and Brigette Marr; great grandchildren, Michael Green, Cayden Wenzel, Dakota Hudson, Devon Wilde and Jason Wenzel Jr.; sister Joanne Campagnola; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, and late husband George, she is predeceased by her son Frederick "Bud" Marr; siblings, John Campagnola, Barbara O'Hora, Ida Musso, and Louise DePalma.

Friends are invited to join the family for a service to be offered Monday, May 20, 2024 at 12pm in the White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South Street, Auburn. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours for Sally will be conducted prior to the service from 10 to 12pm in the funeral home.
