Sharon Kay Marshall, 82, of Weedsport, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, at Auburn Nursing Home. Born on May 9, 1943, in Canton, Ohio, Sharon was the daughter of the late Owen and Eleanor (Hartong) Miller.
Sharon's early years were spent in Weedsport, where she formed lifelong friendships and developed the values that would guide her throughout her life. As a young teenager, Sharon was a member of the Rainbow Girls. After graduating from Weedsport High School in 1961, Sharon's path led her to a fulfilling career at the very institution that had shaped her, Weedsport High School. As an Administrative Assistant in the District Office, she became a cherished member of the school community, remembered by colleagues and students alike for her kindness and professionalism.
Sharon's heart found its perfect match in Ernest "Bud" Marshall, and together they built a life rich in love and companionship. Their marriage of 62 years was a testament to their unwavering commitment to each other and included 20 years spent in Hendersonville, NC where they made several close friends in the community before relocating back to Weedsport to be closer to family. During this time, Sharon also assisted Bud in running the Marshall Construction business performing bookkeeping and administrative tasks.
Sharon was a loving mother to her three children, Gregory (Allyson), Robert (Leslie), and Elizabeth (John) Pelc. She bestowed upon them the same love and values that she carried from her own upbringing, nurturing them into compassionate and successful individuals.
Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her grandchildren, Payton and JP Kehoe, and Zachary Yurco, who brought laughter and light into her life. Sharon's sisters, Kathy Williams, Laura Seymour, and Dawn (Kevin) Dano, shared in the wealth of her love and will remember her as a sister who was always there for them, in moments of both celebration and solace. A woman of many interests, Sharon found solace in the pages of a good book and joy in the act of baking, she was a tremendous baker! Her hands created not only delicious treats but also tender moments and memories that her family will cherish forever. Those who knew Sharon would describe her as loving, kind, and faith-filled a true reflection of her character and the life she led.
