Shirley Cuddy Obituary

Shirley VanCamp (Hunt) Cuddy, 96, of Weedsport, NY, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 26, 2026. Mrs. Cuddy was born in Ogdensburg, NY, on December 19, 1929, to the late Howard and Bessie Barkley VanCamp.

Shirley was an avid reader and enjoyed card games. She had a love for traveling, camping and the NY Yankees. Nothing made her happier than the time she spent with her family and friends. 

Shirley is survived by her sons, David Hunt and wife Dorianne of Rensselaer, NY, and Paul Hunt and wife Beverly, of South Carolina., her stepson, James Cuddy and his wife Susan of Virginia; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her husband Daniel Cuddy; her son Hugh Hunt; her stepdaughters, Collen and Cathy; her four sisters and two brothers. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. from 11am - noon with a time for prayers and sharing of memories to immediately follow at noon at White Chapel Funeral Home 2719 Erie Dr. Weedsport.  Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery Weedsport. 

Over the past several years she had many in home caregivers including Darlene, Darby, Mary, Vicky, Melissa, Yvonne and Katie in her final days. Shirley's family would like to thank each and every one for the compassionate care and love that these and so many others gave to Shirley (and Dan).
