Shirley A. Schmidt Pysnack, 78, the wife of the late David Pysnack of Genesee Gardens, Auburn, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026 at her home. Born March 11, 1948 in Merrill, WI, she was the daughter of the late William and Fern Voigt Schmidt and was a United States Army Veteran. For many years, Shirley owned and operated "Shirley's Beauty Salon" behind the family home on Cottage Street, prior to retiring from the medical records department at Auburn Memorial Hospital. She was a communicant of St. Peter and Paul Church and enjoyed spending time and catching up with family and friends at the Ukrainian National Club.
She is survived by her two daughters Kathy McCarthy (Dennis McNabb) and Patty Pysnack-Weaver (Jon Henderson); grandchildren Tevin Pysnack, Tyler Weaver, Steven McCarthy and Kaylyn McCarthy; five great grandchildren; and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Shirley's wishes, there are no funeral services. Arrangements are with White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., Auburn.
