Shirley Jane Sanders

Shirley Jane Sanders, 84, of Weedsport passed away on April 26, 2025, at Auburn Community Hospital. Born in Naples, NY on November 16, 1940, Shirley was the daughter of the late Alvin and Charlotte Peterson Joseph.

She was a talented ballerina in her younger years. Shirley enjoyed puzzles and crocheting. Happily crocheting blankets for all the children in her family.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Leicia (Kevin) Brown and Valerie (Thomas) Short; her sister, Carol (Jim) Mead; her grandchildren, Jeff (Shanelle) Brown, Andrew (Brittany) Short, Aaron Short and Alexis (Jeffrey Williams) Short; her great grandchildren, Emily Brown, Jackson Short, Olivia Short and Amelia Short and her niece and nephew, John (Tammy) Polmanteer and Cindy (Ted) Smith.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles Sanders and infant son, Jackie Hogle.

A celebration of life will be held from 1pm - 4pm on June 28, 2025, at the Masonic Lodge, 2803 Route 31, Weedsport, NY.
