Susan Ann Riley

Susan (Grieb) Riley, 79, of Niles, passed away at her home on June 16, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Syracuse, Susan was the daughter of the late Rodger G. and Elizabeth (Orr) Grieb. She grew up on the southside of Syracuse and graduated from St. Anthony’s in 1962. Susan was a resident of Niles since 1974. She worked in medical and banking offices in Skaneateles and Auburn before retiring in the early 1990’s. Before the diagnosis of dementia, her life was centered on family. A wonderful cook, she loved to host family and friends. Always gracious, Susan met life with a beautiful smile, a sincere hug and an infectious laugh.

Susan is survived by her husband of 60 years, Thomas; her two children, Michael (Kelly) Riley of Ithaca and Lauren (Douglas) Langtry of Moravia; her five grandchildren, Elizabeth Campbell, Jacob (Allison) Campbell, Benjamin Langtry, Taryn Langtry, Seth Riley, great granddaughter, Gabriella Susan Campbell, siblings Rodger R. (Linda) Grieb, Cynthia (Scott) Mathews, Paul Grieb, many beloved nieces and nephews and her dedicated caregivers.

Predeceased by sister Karen Mosher.

Services will be held privately for family.
