Tamara L Perry, 64, of Groton, NY, formally from Moravia, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Ms. Perry was born in Auburn, NY, on February 15th, 1961, to the late Robert Perkins Sr. (Susanne) and Barbara Crandall (the late Robert Crandall). She graduated from Moravia Central School, Class of 1980. She was employed as a Procedure Scheduler at Cayuga Medical Center.
Community Service was very important to Tammy; she volunteered for so many organizations. She was a member of Four Town Ambulance and Moravia Firemen Ladies' Auxiliary.
Tammy was known for her contagious smile, loving personality, and being one of the 1st people at your door if you needed anything. She thought of her many friends as family and was a pillar in her community.
She is survived by her loving husband Rajneesh Kumar, brother Robert Perkins Jr. (Laurie); sister, Franci VanWie; stepsisters, Sandy Beach and Julie Peters (Tim); stepbrothers Shawn Reeves (Beth), Robert Reeves (Carol), Michael Murray (Sherri); nieces, Adrienne Perkins (Michael), Felicia Freier (Tristan); nephews Justin Perkins (Kristina), Joshua Coleman, Kyle Chrismer and Brock Chrismer; father-in-law, Darshan Singh; several bonus nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
She is predeceased by her first husband, David H Perry; sister Melissa Perkins; father, Robert Perkins Sr.; stepfathers, George Beach and Robert Crandall; stepbrother, Darrell Reeves; brother-in-law, Kenneth W. VanWie; mother-in-law, Kamaljeet Kaur; and several aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life will be at Moravia Firehouse, 38 Keeler Ave. Moravia, NY, on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 1-4 pm.
