Thomas H. Driscoll

Thomas H. Driscoll, 87 of Auburn, New York, passed away at the Commons at St. Anthony after a 19-month battle with cancer. He was the youngest of 10 children of the late Harry and Margaret Driscoll. Tom went to West High School and graduated from Auburn Community College. He was a member of the Carpenters Local 453, the Utopia Club, and a former member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Knights of Columbus. He also served in the Army National Guard.

Tom is survived by his loving wife and companion of 64 years, Helen (Ladouceur) Driscoll; his devoted daughter, Michele R. Driscoll; two grandsons, Mike and Matt Driscoll, and his granddog Cocoa, as well as many, many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

He loved living on the lake and fishing, enjoying his pontoon boat and hosting many 3rd of July parties, graduations, family reunions and Helen’s nursing school reunions. He and Helen also took 38 wonderful trips to Aruba.

Tom was predeceased by his son, Tim Driscoll, four brothers Jack (Millie) Driscoll, Bill (Gladys) Driscoll, Jim (Jackie) Driscoll, and Dick (Helene) Driscoll as well as five sisters, Mary (Jim) Douglas, Jane (Ed) Steckbeck, Rita (Herb) Fries, Kay (Fran) Backus, and Pat (Ron) Wild.

Friends are invited to call at the White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South Street, Auburn on Thursday, January 16th from 4-7 PM and a Christian Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church at 1 PM on Friday, January 17th. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Auburn.
