Thomas Patterson

Thomas M. Patterson, 76, of Owasco passed away on Saturday January 4, 2025. Mr. Patterson was born in Waverly, NY on July 5, 1948, to the late James and Margaret McCabe Patterson.  Tom earned his bachelor's degree in nursing and was employed with Auburn Memorial Hospital for many years as a Registered Nurse and The Operating Room Supervisor. He was extremely proud to be a RN, Tom received numerous commendations from the hospital and BOCES.  Tom had a calling to help those in need, he cared for the sick and injured throughout his life as well as always helping those less fortunate whether it was through the hospital, his church or his community. 

Tom was a devout Catholic and a lifelong communicant of Holy Family Church until their recent closing. Since then, he has been a parishioner of St. Mary's Church.  

He had a love for antiques and at one time owned and operated his own antique store. 

Tom is survived by his loving family; his sister, Mary (Wayne) DeForest; brother, Robert (Lola) Patterson; nephew, Wayne DeForest; nieces, Jennifer (John) Chrabaszcz, Stephanie (Tobias) Foster, Kathryn Lynn and Megan (Brett) Fleming; several great nieces, nephews; and community of friends who will all miss Tom very much. 

In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his brother, James Patterson, and his friend Dale Ross. 

Visitation will be held Monday, January 13, 2024, from 10-10:45am with a funeral mass to immediately follow at 11am all in St. Mary's Church 15 Clark St. Auburn. 

Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Auburn. Per Tom's request please wear his favorite color, Red to the services.

In lieu of flowers donations in Tom's memory may be made to the Finger Lakes SPCA of CNY or to The American Heart Association.
