Wayne Marquart, 87, of Auburn passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, at The Commons on St. Anthony. Born in Auburn on March 11, 1938, Wayne was the son of the late Harold and Miriam Marquart.
Wayne was a graduate of Auburn Community College, SUNY Morrisville, majoring in automobile technology and BOCES, studying basic auto mechanics. He went on to serve in the United States Army Reserve from 1962 - 1966. Wayne was the owner and operator of Wayne’s Flying “A” service station located in Auburn. He was also the head of quality control at Guaranteed Parts in Seneca Falls. Wayne had a love and excitement for all things cars. He enjoyed maintaining and improving his personal vehicles, attending auto races and was an excellent mechanic. As a child, he participated in numerous Soap box derbies and later advanced to racing cars. He was also an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and camping.
Wayne is survived by his daughters, Amy (Kevin) Goff and Katrina (Bob) Canino, his grandchildren, Matt and Cameron Goff, Jordan and Maggie Canino; his sister, Nancy Smith, along with his nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his sister, Sue Wickham and his brother, William Marquart.
Services will be held privately for family with burial in Lakeview Cemetery, Fleming, NY.
