With the heaviest heart, William “Billy” Paul McBride of Port Byron, NY age 79 passed away unexpectedly at his home on February 2nd, 2026.
He is survived by the love of his life Carol, two sons Brian (Aimee) and Joe (Patricia) McBride, grandchildren Alexas (Joe) Yorio and Parker McBride, and two great, grandchildren Jameson and Paisley Yorio, sisters Loretta Sears, Penny Poorman (Ron), brothers David and Tim (Linda) McBride, his mother in law Phyllis Walter, and several nieces, nephews, brother and sisters in law.
He is predeceased by his parents Allen and Bernadine McBride, his sisters Helen and Tina, and his 6 year old grandson Michael John McBride.
Bill took immense pride in running his own construction business for over 40 years. Though he loved hunting and fishing and all things Yankees, his most treasured role was being “Dad”, “Papa” and “Big Papa.”
Bill will forever be remembered for the way he would give the shirt off of his back to anyone who needed a helping hand. We couldn’t have asked for a better man, husband, father, grandparent, and friend. To know him, was to love him, he will be truly missed by all. We know he is now fishing & hunting with his beloved grandson Mikey and all of his dear buddies on the other side who were waiting for him with an ice-cold Pabst.
Calling hours will be Friday, February 6th at White Chapel in Weedsport from 4-7pm.
As his final act of selflessness, Bill was an Organ donor changing countless other lives. The family requests any memorials wishing to be made be sent to:
