William T. Saroodis, 91 of Weedsport, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Auburn Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born in Auburn on March 23, 1934, to the late Vassos and Ida May Hamilton Saroodis. Bill graduated from Weedsport High School and proudly served our country in the United States Army from 1954-1956. He owned and operated Bill’s Servicenter in Weedsport for many years and was employed with Marshall Companies for over 25 years.
Bill was extremely active within his community; he served on the Weedsport School Board for 20 years and was the Chairman of Weedsport’s Bicentennial. Bill was a member of the Weedsport Rod & Gun Club and for 70 years was dedicated member and Past Chief of the Weedsport Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being around people. Bill could talk to anyone and make friends with everyone.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jean Beach Saroodis; his children Robin Lee Karratti, Scott (Sheila) Saroodis, and Jimmy (Cheryl) Saroodis; grandchildren, Alex Karratti (Tim), Danny Karratti (Jenni), Nick Karratti (Stephani), Alicia Kell (Michael), Heather Kreydatus (Russ), Erica Saroodis (Richard), Brett Saroodis and Brittany Saroodis; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his son -in-law, Lloyd Karratti and his sisters Beverly Clark and Marian Weeks.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 24th at the Weedsport First Presbyterian Church from 11am - 2pm. A funeral service will follow at 2pm. Burial in Weedsport Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory may be made to Weedsport First Presbyterian Church or the Weedsport Fire Department.
