Wreathea E. O'Hara, 78, of Port Byron, passed away on January 1, 2024. Born in Auburn NY on October 11, 1945, Wreathea was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Elsie (Vanderlyke) VanHout. She was a devoted wife and mother to her five boys. Wreathea was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Swietoniowski-Kopeczek Post #1324. She enjoyed making ceramics and sold Avon for many years. Wreathea, along with her husband, William, dedicated their efforts to looking after and maintaining the Stryker Memorial in Pine Hill Cemetery. Wreathea cherished the time she spent with family and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Wreathea is survived by her loving husband, William O' Hara Sr., her children, William (Mary Wallace) O'Hara, James (Frannie) O'Hara, Timothy (Sandra) O'Hara, Walter (Trish) O'Hara and David O'Hara; her sisters, Sandra Guidone and Inez Lynch; her grandchildren, Chantel, Jackson, Finnegan and Allexious; her five great grandchildren, with one on the way and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Along with her parents, Wreathea was predeceased by her siblings, Jean Mets, Herbert VanHout, Lloyd VanHout, Bonnie VanHout and Donna Mead.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 4th from 3pm - 7pm in White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Drive, Weedsport NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 am on Friday in St. Mary's Church, Auburn. Interment will be in the spring at Pine Hill Cemetery.
Donations in Wreathea's name may be made to the VFW Post 1975.
