Elizabeth “Betty” “Cooch” Walsh, 94, passed away July 4, 2017.  Betty was born in Auburn, NY, on May 8, 1923 to Zita (Lauckern) and Peter Y. Cool.

In early adulthood, Betty was a telephone operator.  While raising a family, Betty helped her husband, Jack, build a successful business:  Walsh Fire Safety Service.  In later years, Betty became active with The Seward House and The Willard Chapel, as local history and historical preservation were very important to her.  Amazing to all of us, she continued working until age 88.

Betty cherished her family and enjoyed her time:  leading girl scouts, taxi-ing hockey players, giving driving lessons, babysitting her grandchildren, and hosting family gatherings.  She’ll always be remembered for her infectious laugh!

Betty was predeceased by her husband, John “Jack” Walsh, her son Michael “Mike” Walsh, her sister, Paula Falsey, brothers Robert and Peter Cool, sister-in-law, Jean Cool, and brother-in-law, Gerald “Buck” Falsey.

Surviving Betty are her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Deborah Walsh, her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Steven Infanti, her brother, Paul Cool and sister-in-law, Maureen Walsh.  Also leaving to cherish Betty’s memory are her grandchildren:  Richard Walsh and wife Toni Ann; Rebecca Cannorro and husband Robert; Robert A. Walsh and partner Lisa Palladino; Susan Bowen; and Emily Walsh; and great-grandchildren:  Andrew and Daniel Cannorro, Adam Stotler, and Madelyn Walsh; cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass will be held at Holy Family Church, Auburn, on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 10 a.m.  In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to The Willard Chapel or Holy Family Church.
