Thomas A. Lennox Sr. 65, of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly at his family home on Rockefeller Road, on Saturday July 21, 2018.
Tom was born in Auburn on February 18, 1953 to Thomas G. Lennox and Marion Reilley Lennox.
He was a graduate of Auburn High School, and developed a hard work ethic at a young age. At the time of his passing, he had 38 proud years into his business, Lennox Tree Service.
Tom was known throughout the area for his knowledge of trees and wood, and considered a “Master of his Craft”. He was an expert carpenter, welder, electrician, and restored cars, especially Corvettes. Tom was larger than life, especially when it came to his love for his family, friends, and country.
He was a Committee Member of Cayuga County Conservative Party, a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, The Knights of Columbus, and the UNC Club. Tom cared about his community and donated his time and talent to make it better. Those of us fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to know Tom, and consider him a friend, have a treasure that even his tragic passing cannot take away. “If you were a friend, you were family”.
Tom has left his family and friends with many memories, his humor, his compassion, and his unforgettable organizing of the “Crow Shoot”.
Tom is survived by his wife, Pamela Gantner Lennox, with whom he would have celebrated 40 years of marriage in October of this year, his two sons, Thomas A. Lennox Jr. of Buffalo, and Daniel (Sylvia) Lennox, who will proudly carry on his father’s business, a granddaughter, who was the “love of his life”, Ella Martine Lennox, a sister Deborah Lennox, a brother Greg Lennox all of Auburn, a niece Tammy (Jerry) Meyers, nephews Gregory and John Lennox and a great nephew Connor, a sister in law Joanne (Ed) Schmidt, brother in law, Paul Gantner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11am in Sacred Heart Church, Melrose Rd Auburn. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fleming. Friends are invited to call on the family Wednesday from 4-7 at Sacred Heart Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Tom Lennox may be made to charities of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are with White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South Street Auburn.
The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the tremendous outpouring of sympathy & support they have received at this difficult time, from friends and the community.

Many great times spent with "Q-Ball", Danny, and Mom (Pam) over the last 20 years alongside my friends and father Al. From shooting games of pool, working on cars, blasting away clay pigeons (and crows), throwing some slugs downrange at the turkey shoots, and spending time just enjoying each other's company in the basement, many memories were made that I will never forget. Al just got a partner to play pool with and the game certainly just got a lot more interesting :). You will be greatly missed, Tom, and my condolences go out to everyone in the family.

After my being arrested for fighting with a local tattoo artist, Tom replied to me," Geez Dino, you're really kicking the sh*t out of the competition." Whenever we bumped into each other, we always had something to laugh about, whether initiated by him or myself. His sense of humor and generosity in helping me out when I needed it (lots of woodchips) will be sincerely missed. Hopefully this will be posted, people that knew him know this is the type of person he was to those he liked. My condolences go out to his family, you lost a terrifically special character...
